General Check-up and Clean

Regular dental checks can help to prevent dental problems from starting, or intercept problems at an early stage to minimise the treatment required. If left untreated, problems such as tooth decay and gum disease can continue to progress, resulting in more complex and expensive treatment in the future. Professional cleaning removes plaque and tartar that have built up over time. Your dentist, hygienist or oral health therapist can discuss oral hygiene measures, such as tooth-brushing and flossing, to help prevent plaque and tartar build up.

Fissure Sealants

A fissure sealant is a protective coating that is placed in the fissures (grooves) of the back teeth to help prevent tooth decay from developing or worsening. Fissure sealants are most often recommended for children (but can be placed at any age) with increased risk of tooth decay or if fissures are deep enough to trap food after eating. Treatment is painless and non-invasive and can be performed by your dentist, hygienist or oral health therapist.

Mouthguards

It is important for adults and children to have a well-fitting mouthguard when playing contact sports.
